Not just for entertainment; You can actually earn on tiktok and here is how!
This is not a drill. You can actually earn on tiktok, and I have been earning since February this year. You already probably heard about TIKTOK AFFILIATE. That's the term for people that promotes products on tiktok and they earn commission per sales that's generated on their videos or products bought from their SHOWCASE.
As a person who doesn't have a talent in selling, tiktok became the perfect place for me to do just that.
Just a quick back story: Last October 2022, I learned about the TIKTOK AFFILIATE program. I tried doing it since I already have a few thousand followers which is the first step into applying. You have to have 1k or more followers. Anyway, I bought this really cool shoes and cropped top on tiktok, both were really affordable but the quality is really great. I took videos showcasing them, uploaded with a yellow basket linking the products and forgot about it.
Fast forward this 2024, I was exploring the affiliate dashboard when I saw that I have an earning of P500 something. I didn't know what it was and thought that it might be a glitch or something. Upon further exploring, I learned that it was actually the overall commission I generated from the videos I posted of the shoes and the cropped top.
This made me realize that I can really earn thru affiliate!
Here's what I did to start being an affiliate again.
For transparency: The affiliate account I am currently using was my personal account. It only has a few hundreds of followers before and since I have to have 1k followers, I sorted to doing a follow for follow tactics and I achieved reaching 1k followers quickly. My main account has 5k+ followers but I am using it for other types of content so I had to use other account.
1. Since I have been a blogger/content creator for a long time, there were brands that already sent me their products to feature/post/review on my social media platforms. I also already had a few products I personally bought on tiktok. They were the products that I took a video of then posted.
2. I made sure that the videos I post are good in quality: Clear shots, informative and pleasing to the viewers.
3. I started getting commission on the 4th day of posting so I just continued. Since this is an affiliate account, I can use/experiment on what type of videos is the best for my account or what type of video is gaining more views or traction.
4. When I started getting more commission, I also started to request free samples. Those samples are in exchange of promoting the products that will be sent so as the free samples continue to come, so is my contents/posts.
This is a good and legit side hustle if you guys have a free time or if you want to try, there is definitely no harm in trying.
Below is my first earning on the first month that I tried doing affiliate marketing on tiktok. This is the start of my learning phase and I was so happy.
Do not be discourage if you see that your videos has low views. Continue doing so what you were doing because even the biggest affiliates or content creators on tiktok started from the bottom.
