Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino - Lola Igna Premier Night

My sister, my mother, my best friend and I were lucky enough to watch Lola Igna, an entry to Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino on its Premier Night in Gateway Cinema. My reader turned friend, Shan, happened to ask me almost a week ago before the said night if I am interested in watching it since it's just in Gateway which is just near our house. I agreed since I don't have any schedule at that date. She then asked me if I wanted to bring anyone with me, thus, we all went.

Just like any other Premier Night, there's a program in front of the cinema where Lola Igna will be showed. A number of people joined in on the fun as DJ Jai Ho entertained the crowd while waiting for the actors and actresses. Rovhie, my best friend, and I, decided to have some Macao Imperial Tea since there's a branch within Gateway.

We went around while waiting for our tickets.

The show started around 9:30pm. I was excited about this movie even before I got to be invited. I once watched its trailer/teaser in youtube when it was randomly suggested to me and found it funny.

ABOUT THE MOVIE

I don't want to spoil anything, and this is also definitely not a review. I just want you guys to know how the trailer kind of deceived me.. and probably most of the ones who watched it. I thought it was all fun and all the jazz, but it wasn't just all that. I had fun watching it because it is realistic - too realistic perhaps that even the bangaw and other insects are all part of the scenes like they were also actors - and the plot twist really got me. What happened in the movie is different from how I perceived it to be when I watched the trailer and if they did that purposely, kudos to them because it really surprised me in a good way.

I recommend this to all. When I said I was lucky that we were able to watch Lola Igna because I was invited, it's not just because I got to watch it for free and I am with some of the most important people in my life but because the things that I learned and realize while watching Lola Igna is really priceless.

It made me somehow evaluate the past, the present and about my future.

When the movie ended, Ms. Angie Ferro and the rest got the round of applause they deserve.
